Almost two years later, I'm back. To Blogspot (or Blogger) that is. It's like coming back to my long-lost (significantly upgraded) digital home - and I'm liking what I see. The familiarity of the layout, the autosave function which negates the need to swear when a certain long post got lost in the midst of dysfunctional transfer of data packets, the convenient "blogs I follow" function that allows easy connection with other bloggers, etc. have convinced me to leave the two years of forage into the Xanga jungle behind and come back to where I first started.
It wasn't that Xanga is in any way inferior.
Just that, among other reasons, the good people in Google/Blogger, in full Google tradition, has done a great job (again) creating an easy-to-use, uncomplicated, smart interface that allows quick sharing of ever-increasing internet whackiness, fuss-free. Moreover, I followed the Xanga settings instructions to a T and still failed to make my sitemeter work as it should. I suspect it's not me, because the one I have here on Blogspot still works like a charm after all these years.
So I salute you, Xangans who have been with me for the past 1 year and 10 months sharing your thoughts and comments. I have followed some of your blogs for longer than the time I was there, and I love seeing the evolution of your lives over the years, mostly for the better. I have enjoyed your posts, some of which are among the most inspiring writings I've ever read. Thanks for sharing. I will continue to check in on you guys and you're welcome to hang as much as you wish.
Stay awesome guys.
